Detail Page

published by the PhET
This webpage contains an applet that simulates the control of a Lunar Lander. The user is must touch down gently on the lunar surface. Key commands control the thrust and the orientation of the Lander. Extra points for soft and difficult landings. The simulations shows the altitude, velocity, and thrust of the Lander.
This page also contains sample learning goals as well as user-submitted ideas and activities for use with the simulation.
This is part of an extensive and growing collection of research-based learning applets covering a large range of physics.
