The Problem is...: Why everyone knows universities can't prepare more and better math and science teachers, and why they are wrong

This Plenary talk at the 2006 PTEC Conference outlines the needs for better prepared science teachers and the UTeach program at the University of Texas that is working to meet these needs. The approach, curriculum, and outcomes of the program are outlined.
