This is a free set of learning modules on sound, acoustics, music, and musical instruments, developed for use in middle school and high school physical science courses. It is organized in short components for ease of use by teachers who may be unfamiliar with this content area. Included are background information for teachers, lessons and activities on frequency, wavelength, amplitude, pitch, the physics of sound, rhythms and beats, standing waves, harmonic series, and tuning systems. Suggestions for presenting some of the concepts to younger students are also provided. Worksheets include answer keys.
