This web page gives a brief introduction to the double slit experiment in quantum mechanics illustrated by a java applet. The applet is a simulation of a 2D interference experiment with user changeable slit size, detector position, and whether there is one or two slits. The description of the experiment gives a brief introduction to the concepts of the wavefunction providing probabilities and measurements causing a collapse of the wavefunction.
