This lessson plan for grades 3-5 has students design and construct boats to test their buoyancy. The lesson is designed to help students understand both buoyancy and Archimedes Principle.

Included is a printable student activity for testing and comparing the buoyancy of boats.  This is part of a larger collection of lessons, all of which are aligned with specific AAAS Benchmarks for Scientific Literacy.
