This item is a lesson plan for grades K-2 on the topic of energy. As children probe the importance of turning off battery-operated objects, they build understanding of consumption of energy by thinking of themselves as consumers. Included is a printable student activity for making energy-saving labels. This is part of a larger collection of lessons, all of which are aligned with specific AAAS Benchmarks for Scientific Literacy.
