Computing in Science and Engineering
written by David Scherer, Paul Dubois, and Bruce Sherwood
This article introduces the features of VPython, a package for programming and displaying interactive 3D graphics. Beginning students without prior programming experience have used VPython to write programs with real time 3D visualizations of mechanical systems. Developed at Carnegie Mellon University, VPython is part of an effort to develop a more modern first-year physics curriculum.
