This Quantitative Literacy Case Study helps students understand population data and percentages. A USA Today article on workers holding two or more jobs provides the information for this case. Students use this information, fractions, and percentages to determine employment statistics. They also interpret the statistics and descriptions provided in the article.
This is part of a collection of Quantitative Literacy Case Studies developed by participants in the University of Arkansas College Ready Math-Science Partnership. The CRMSP provides help for teachers developing their own timely and topical cases.
