Doppler Effect Model
written by Andrew Duffy
The Doppler Effect model demonstrates the shift in frequency of a wave that is produced by the motion of either the wave source or the observer of the wave (or both). In this simulation, you can explore the change in the wave that is produced by source and/or observer motion, and you can even view what the situation looks like from the perspective of the medium (the standard reference frame), the source, or the observer.

The Doppler Effect model was created using the Easy Java Simulations (EJS) modeling tool.  It is distributed as a ready-to-run (compiled) Java archive.  Double clicking the ejs_bu_Doppler.jar file will run the program if Java is installed.

Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.5 of Java (JRE).
