Detail Page

written by Larry Friesen and Anne Gillis
This resource is a set of instructional materials developed to help beginning physics students build a solid understanding of vector algebra.  It contains two lecture presentations in PDF format and a companion assessment.  It gives an overview of terminology, vector notation, and a variety of methods for solving problems relating to vectors.  One of the authors' goals is to help students differentiate between the uses of vectors in mathematics vs. physics.

This resource is part of a collection developed by the NSF-funded Mathematics Across the Community College Curriculum (MAC 3).
