Detail Page

written by Andrew Duffy
This web page contains a simulation featuring a series RC circuit with a battery, resistor, and capacitor in series. The capacitor is initially uncharged.  Current vs. Time and Voltage vs. Time graphs can be viewed simultaneously to help users understand how charging and discharging a capacitor is related to potential difference across the resistor.  It also illustrates the point that current is a function of time in a simple circuit to which a capacitor is added.
This item is part of a collection of similar simulation-based student activities by the author.
