EM Radiation Program
written by Wolfgang Christian
The EM Radiation program displays the electric field vectors (in the x-y plane) and magnetic field contours (for the field in the z direction) calculated from the Lienard-Wiechert potentials for a charged particle.  The default scenario shows the resulting radiation from a charged particle in simple harmonic motion.   Additional particle trajectories can be specified using the Display | Switch GUI menu item.

EM Radiation is an Open Source Physics program written for the teaching of electromagnetism.  It is distributed as a ready-to-run (compiled) Java archive.  Double clicking the em_radiation.jar file will run the program if Java is installed.  Other electromagnetism programs are also available.  They can be found by searching ComPADRE for Open Source Physics, OSP, or electromagnetism.

Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.5 of Java.

Hello,

The EM Radiation jar file runs on my computer.  Can you please download the jar and try again?  It has been updated since your last comment.

Please note that this is not an EJS program so you cannot view the EJS model.

Thank you,
-Lyle
