This interactive example takes learners step-by-step through a trigonometry problem. It shows a person on the ground looking up to sight both a treetop and a building top along an a line. Given the distances from the person of the tree and building, plus the angle of the line-of-sight, students use trigonometry to determine the difference in height between the building and tree.  A user-activated "help" sequence is provided for each step of the problem-solving, from conceptual analysis through calculation.
