Detail Page

published by the PhET
This interactive applet allows users to explore how resistance in a wire is affected by changes in the wire's length and area.   As students adjust resistivity, length, and area of a wire, the size of the symbols in the equation change to reflect the variations.

This page also includes samples of learning goals and user-submitted ideas for instructional use.  It is part of a larger collection of materials developed and maintained by the Physics Education Technology project (PhET) based on principles of physics education research.
