This video shows a demonstration of buoyancy. A small glass vessel with a hole in the bottom is partially filled with water and placed in a partially filled cylinder of water. The cylinder has a rubber diaphragm which, when pushed, forces more water into the diver. The addition of this mass of water into the diver causes it to sink.

This is part of a collection of typical lecture demonstration videos put together by the physics department at Wake Forest University.
