Detail Page

published by the ThinkQuest
written by Alex Kulesza, David Green, and Granite Christopher
This page ventures into the real-world applications of wave properties associated with the physics of sound.  It provides information about ultrasound and how it is used in sonar and echolocation, diffraction horns,  noise cancellation, and harmonic synthesis.  Especially engaging is the interactive wave applet that allows users to create their own.  This item is part of a larger collection on the physics of sound for high school and middle school classrooms.

The interactive applets on the Soundry site are no longer operational.
