This set of hands-on activity from the Exploratorium addresses the physics and engineering of structures such as bridges and cantilevers.  The site contains a photo gallery and multiple activities to demonstrate the concepts of building out, building to scale, and building bridges.  Each activity includes time and preparation guidelines, a materials list, and teacher tips.
