Detail Page

written by Harvey Gould, Jan Tobochnik, and Wolfgang Christian
The textbook Simulations in Physics provides an introduction to programming in the context of physics. This third edition, using Java, develops good programming practice through  novel applications. It is written to be accessible to a wide range of readers and encourages student experimentation. The goal is to enable students to use computer simulations as a method of discovery in physics.

The Simulations in Physics web site provides examples of the text and links to programming resources freely through the Open Source Physics project.
