written by the Dr. Porter Johnson
This lesson plan contains instructions for conducting an inquiry-based lab to investigate current-carrying coils in magnetic fields.  Students construct a simple galvanometer from film cannisters and other readily-obtainable materials.  The author includes follow-up questions to stimulate learning.  This item is part of a larger set of lesson plans in the SMILE collection of resources.
