This site from the Exploratorium provides an activity in exploring constructive and destructive interference of light. With two pieces of Plexiglas™ and other common materials, one can observe rainbow-colored interference patterns similar to those seen in soap bubbles as the Plexiglas™ is bent and twisted. The site provides an explanation of the physics involved and extension activities using a colored filter and a sodium-vapor lamp. This activity is part of Exploratorium's Science Snacks series.
