This activity from the Exploratorium contains an introduction to diamagnetic materials like water that are repelled by both poles of a magnet. A rare-earth magnet is used to repel grapes, whose main component is water, and force them to rotate on a pivot. The site also contains an explanation of the physics involved and descriptions of ferromagnetic and paramagnetic materials. This activity is part of Exploratorium's Science Snacks series.
