This is a free, open-source textbook for introductory astronomy. The book was written and vetted with the assistance of about 70 astronomers.  It's relatively modular, so sections can be used independently.  An Open Educational Resources Hub is included with the book, where ancillary materials by the authors and adopters are made available. The book has a host of links to effective videos and apps around the web, written and web-based resources that go with each chapter, profiles of a diverse group of astronomers, interdisciplinary connections and frequent touches of humor.

The textbook is in digital form so that it is updated annually and can be corrected at any time.  Students can use the book on-line or downloaded in several formats on phones, tablets, or laptops.
