This illustrated booklet describes, in everyday language, the circumstances of the Aug. 21, 2017 eclipse of the Sun, which will be total in a narrow path stretching diagonally across the US from Oregon to South Carolina. The partial eclipse will be visible to 500 million people in North America. Safe viewing instructions, background information on eclipses, and further resources are also included.
