Heat-Flow System Control Model
written by
Luis de la Torre, Hector Vargas Oyarzun, and Jacobo Saenz
The Servo Heat-Flow System Control Model simulates the use of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller to control of the temperature in three different positions along a heat-flow system. The simulation allows closing the control loop around three different points inside the heat-flow system using three sensors positioned at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the tube. The heat-flow is modeled as a second order system with delays
This EJS simulation is based on a real system running at the Spanish Open University for Distance Education (UNED). The real heat-flow system is used as a remote laboratory for learning purposes and a different application created with EJS (visually identical to this simulation) serves as graphical user interface to operate the remote laboratory. Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.6 of Java (JRE).
