Science Literacy Maps are an a free interactive graphical tool that helps K-12 teachers and students understand connections between concepts that span physical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, life science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The maps also show how these concepts build upon one another across grade levels. They are based on the learning goals from the AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy, which represent a decade of research, ongoing evaluation, and evidence-based implementation. Clicking on a concept within the maps will display resources relevant to the concept, related Benchmarks, and links to related topic-focused research.
The Science Literacy Maps are a collaborative effort of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL), Project 2061 at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Digital Learning Sciences, and the University of Colorado. Editor's Note: The web tools allow developers to embed the maps in Web sites and display educational resources and other content in the maps.
