This Chandra press release discusses the Chandra X-ray image of quasar 3C 273. A powerful jet of energy is seen coming from the quasar, very fast at first and slowing down rapidly, like a "cosmic traffic pile-up." The page contains images of the quasar and briefly discusses its history of discovery.
