This page contains a series of three activities developed specifically to accompany the PhET DC Circuit Construction Kit. The lessons explore basic properties of electric circuits and resistors in series and parallel circuits. The activities may be performed using only the PhET virtual circuit kit or in combination with a hands-on circuit lab.  Students will build virtual circuits from schematic drawings, use a multimeter to take readings, and analyze the difference between real and simulated circuits. Materials include lesson plans, detailed student guides, and a Circuit Challenge worksheet. Also included are "clicker questions", designed to elicit prior understanding.

This resource is part of a large collection of simulations freely available from the Physics Education Technology group at the University of Colorado.

Additional context for this material is provided by the ComPADRE-SERC Pedagogic Service.
