WISE is a free online science environment offering standards-based modules designed to complement traditional classroom instruction. It requires internet access with Shockwave and Java-enabled web browsers. The WISE software guides students through an inquiry-based process of concept building, note taking, predicting, investigating, collaborating, and reporting. Each module is supplemented with related video clips and interactive simulations.
Modules related to physics/physical science include: static electricity, thermodynamics, phases of matter, chemical reactions, velocity and acceleration, and global warming. Please note that this resource requires Shockwave, or Java Applet Plug-in.
