SERC Pedagogic Service Workshop

The SERC Pedagogy Service and the ComPADRE Digital Library are collaborating to create and disseminate examples of teaching activities based on proven approaches to teaching and learning. This workshop will provide opportunities for Physics and Astronomy educators to network with colleagues, to learn more about the Pedagogic Service project, and to contribute to this growing activity collection.

The goals of the workshop are to:

• Disseminate information about the Pedagogic Service project.
• Define the characteristics of pedagogically sound classroom activities.
• Review, edit, and refine pre-submitted activities to be added to the ComPADRE activity collection.
• Disseminate information about the workshop products at the AAPT conference.

Workshop activities will include group discussions, demonstrations, and planning/writing/reviewing/editing sessions.
Participant created activities will be added to the collection of digital resources for use by physics and astronomy educators throughout the world. These activities will also be linked to learning resources available through online libraries.

Travel and one night's hotel expenses will be reimbursed by the workshop.

Registration Details

Those interested in participating should prepare a one page letter outlining their interest in this project and teaching experience and a short CV.
