This poster demonstration, presented at the American Society for Engineering Annuaul Conference in 2000, describes some of the different protocols used during the SCALE-UP project in which researchers utilize the highly interactive, collaboration-based instruction that works well in small class settings and finding ways to economically accommodate classes of 100 students. Some of the different protocols utilized to facilitate group functioning include; including group member selection, contracts, team self-evaluations, scoring to promote participation by the better students in group activities, requirements for team presentations, etc.
