This set of two guided student activities explores the potential energy for springs. The activities involve using masses and springs to create models for elastic potential energy of single springs or combinations of springs in series or parallel. These activities assume previous exposure of students to kinetic and gravitational potential energy. Teacher's notes are included that provide learning goals and the organization of the activities.
This is part of a collection of similar resources developed by the College-Ready Math-Science Partnership at the University of Arkansas.
