The Dependence of Acceleration on Force and Mass

This set of student activities and  teacher notes covers Newton's Second Law. The activities involve studying the acceleration of a low-friction cart accelerated by a hanging mass. Several different versions of the activity with different levels of inquiry and guidance, are given. This material includes teacher reflections on student learning outcomes and classroom implementation for use in professional development. These activities are modifications of activities from various original sources.
