The Servo Heat-Flow System Control Model simulates the use of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller to control of the temperature in three different positions along a heat-flow system. The simulation allows closing the control loop around three different points inside the heat-flow system using three sensors positioned at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the tube. The heat-flow is modeled as a second order system with delays
This EJS simulation is based on a real system running at the Spanish Open University for Distance Education (UNED). The real heat-flow system is used as a remote laboratory for learning purposes and a different application created with EJS (visually identical to this simulation) serves as graphical user interface to operate the remote laboratory.
