This item is a worksheet/assessment on inertia for students of introductory physics. It contains 18 drawings of a block-like object. The object is depicted both at rest and in various types of motion. Differing forces are applied to the block, and students are asked to sketch all the forces acting on the object, as well as the appropriate vector arrows.
This assessment was developed to accompany a related educator's guide for teaching a unit on the topic of Newton's First and Third Laws. SEE RELATED ITEMS on this page for a link to the educator's guide. This item is part of a larger collection of resources and pedagogic materials developed by the Modeling Instruction project at Arizona State University.
