the Exploratorium
This site from the Exploratorium provides an activity to detect the flickering of a LED or neon glow tube light source. When an observer allows his or her body to vibrate, by giving a Bronx cheer for example, the eyes are able to perceive the light's rapid flashing. The site contains an explanation for the effect and suggestions for other activities that demonstrate the same results. This activity is part of Exploratorium's Science Snacks series.
