This collection. part of the American Physical Society's Focused Collections of Physical Review PER, centers on efforts to reform physics lab courses through new curricula, best-practice instructional techniques, and methods for utilizing research-based assessment instruments to measure student learning and outcomes in laboratory settings. We invite manuscripts that examine traditional physics lab courses, hybrid courses, and those that offer new and novel methods that may currently be used only in limited educational settings.
