The NSHSS Foundation $1,000 STEM Scholarships

Description: The NSHSS Foundation scholarships have been created to help reduce financial barriers for high school seniors entering college to pursue STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), business, economics, or public policy. The Foundation seeks to engage these future leaders in order to help fuel the global economy, stimulate innovation and creativity, and yield a strong ethical foundation for decision-making.

The scholarships are targeted to entering college freshmen who belong to groups generally under-represented in these careers. The scholarships are for the student's first year of college.

The Foundation awards STEM scholarships to applicants who are pursuing a degree in, or closely related to, one of the following STEM disciplines:

Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Biosciences/Pre-med/health-related fields
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Cognitive, Neural, and Behavioral Sciences
Computer and Computational Sciences/Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Information Sciences
Materials Science and Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Nuclear Engineering
Operations Research
Teaching in STEM areas

Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books,
campus room and board, or other related expenses.
Scholarship checks will be sent to the university where
the recipient enrolls to deposit in the student's university account.
