This website offers various virtual laboratory experiences in electrical science and technology using 3D animations and interactive models. Topics covered range from basic electricity and magnetism to modern topics in semiconductor physics, microelectronics, and nanotechnology fabrication and instrumentation. The approach covers the material at a level that is understandable to high school and introductory undergraduates but covers all details, such as semiconductor structures and electronic device design, necessary for a complete understanding of the technology. Models are used to explain microscopic physical concepts.
This project is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the University of Virginia, IBM, and Discreet Corporation.
