The NIU chapter of the Society of Physics Students, informally referred to as the Physics Club, meets regularly throughout the year.
The Physics Club sponsors trips to places like the Adler Planetarium, Fermilab, and Argonne National Laboratory. The Physics Club also shows movies, both educational and fun, and hosts the departmental picnic every semester. Physics Club members help with outreach activities such as the Haunted Physics Laboratory and the Physics Olympics at NIU, as well as assisting with the Frontier Physics Road Shows.
