Hi all - here's the rules set for the next
contest!  Not sure what the prizes will be,
but I am sure there WILL be prizes.
Exciting ones.  Glamorous merchandise and so
on.

Please remember to post IN THIS THREAD -
use 'post to thread' as opposed to reply to
post - easier to view for the judges.

The idea here is to write physics related
haiku - multiple entries are allowed and
encouraged.

1) All submissions must follow the 5-7-5
form of classic Japanese haiku.

2) All submissions must be related to physics

3) Judging will be based on the physics
content and adherence to more subtle aspects
of the haiku form as explained at the site
linked below.

http://www.toyomasu.com/haiku/

Good luck and enjoy!  Entries will be
accepted until February 15, 2004.

Nine haiku for you:
SPS is number one!
Next, will tanka do?

Newton saw the fall
Of apple from tree to earth
And Einstein caught it

Ride on a photon
Move fast as light--in no time.
Einstein was right bright

Behold energy
When E = mc2
It makes the stars shine

SPS haiku:
Beyond the Standard Model
New answers will do

A quantum-leap falls
Into a square well so small
'Tis not there at all

Feynman pictured all
As a sum of histories
Now it's QED

How small it can go
We shan't know, until we have
The Stringy Thingy

Now is the time for
All young physicists to come
And join SPS!

Thanks to all who participated in the Haiku contest.  There were many good entries.  As you can all imagine, judging will be difficult.  The judging process is underway, though, and winners will be announced as soon as judging is complete.
