This JAVA applet solves the time-dependent Schrödinger wave equation for a gaussian wave packet incident on a square barrier or well. The height of the barrier (depth of the well) relative to the mean energy of the packet can be adjusted. The source code is available.
This is an early example of using Java for online simulations of physical, and in this case quantum mechanical, systems.
