This resource contains two experiments on wave measurement in a ripple tank, appropriate for use in high school physical science or physics classrooms.  Students are introduced to using the stroboscope to 'freeze' waves in a ripple tank, and to confirm the relationship between wave speed, frequency and wavelength.

SEE RELATED ITEMS on this page for a Teachers' Guide on using ripple tanks, by the same authors.

**NOTE In all work with stroboscopes, teachers must be aware of any student suffering from photo-induced epilepsy.
