This item is a Java simulation that allows students to interactively practice the addition of three vectors using the tip-to-tail method. Students drag and draw their own vector lines and must determine the accurate resultant. The design of the simulation promotes understanding of the associative nature of vector addition to prepare students to apply the mathematics after forming a conceptual basis.
This item is part of a larger collection of simulation based physics models sponsored by the MAP project (Modular Approach to Physics). Please note that this resource requires Java Applet Plug-in.
