written by Michael Fowler
This is a collection of Flash animations developed to support a course in introductory historical astronomy. The "Flashlets" are presented sequentially, beginning with early Greek science and Galilean motion. The series progresses through the Kepler's and Newton's Laws and culminates in Einstein's theory of special relativity and time dilation.

This collection is part of a larger set of curriculum materials developed at the University of Virginia for the course "Galileo and Einstein".  See Related Materials for a link to the full index, which includes lecture notes, Java simulations, and historical excerpts.

Please note that this resource requires Flash.
