This digital collection connects research-based best practices in physics education with authentic videos showing experienced instructors applying these practices in class. The purpose of the videos is to provide meaningful, immediate outreach to enrich the teaching of physics and support educators in developing a professional vision. Each Periscope lesson consists of a 2-5 minute video, a handout linking the episode to big ideas in teaching/learning, and a lesson guide. Some videos are devoted to physics content, such as "What ideas do students have about electronegativity?" Other episodes focus on pedagogy, such as "How can I encourage productive student debate"?

Note: Periscope videos may be freely viewed by teachers and shared with faculty and/or teaching assistants. The videos may not be posted publicly online or on class websites.
Editor's Note: Periscope was initially developed to support training of teaching assistants in college-level introductory physics. However, it is equally applicable to high school physics teaching.
