The animation shows an apparatus for the photoelectric effect. Light hits the cathode and electrons can be released. You can change the wavelength of light. You can also adjust the voltage  that retards the electrons reaching the anode (retarding voltage is given in volts and the photoelectron current is given in nA = 10−9 A).   Restart.

  1. What is the work function of the metal used in the photoelectric effect above?
  2. Using the data for at least three different wavelengths from the animation, determine a value for Planck's constant.
