the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
This website, containing information from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, provides projects and activities for advanced astronomy students. Students compare the spectrums of stars and quasars. Students will also understand why scientists believe why quasars really are the most distant and luminous objects in the universe. By the end of this project students learn about what quasars are, what provides their enormous power, and what they can tell us about the early universe.
