This applet demonstrates Elastic and Inelastic collision. Two wagons undergo a collision that is either totally elastic or totally inelastic. The mass and initial velocity of the carts can be set by the user. The applet illustrates the velocities, the momenta or the kinetic energies of the wagons.
This applet is available in a wide range of languages and is a part of a large collection of physics applets. Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.4.2 of Java.
