How is Critical Race Theory good to think with in Physics Education Research? An invitation
written by Antar A. Tichavakunda
published by the American Association of Physics Teachers
edited by Laura A. H. Wood, Meseret F. Hailu, and Verónica N. Vèlez
This theoretical essay engages with one central question: What lessons might the field of physics education learn from Critical Race Theory? The author engages with this question as an outsider to physics education but as an insider to Critical Race Theory. The author demonstrates how three Critical Race Theory concepts might be thought with in physics education research: 1) the Griggs test, 2) looking to the bottom, 3) and imperial scholarly practices.
