Understanding Intersectionality as a Tenet of Critical Race Theory for Physics and Physics Education
written by Mildred Boveda and Geraldine L. Cochran
published by the American Association of Physics Teachers
edited by Laura A. H. Wood, Meseret F. Hailu, and Verónica N. Vèlez
In this manuscript, we describe CRT's genealogy in legal studies and its connections to Black feminist thought and intersectionality. We provide examples of how intersectionality has expanded CRT to address the needs of several oppressed populations. We make a case for the importance of CRT and intersectionality in physics education and for reducing inequality within the physics community.
